Efficacy of the Improving Participation after Stroke Self-Management-Rehabilitation (IPASSR) program in sub-acute stroke

Brief purpose of the study:The purpose of this study is to evaluate if a stroke-rehabilitation self-management program, that targets management of chronic stroke symptoms rather than impairment reduction, can improve self-efficacy, activity performance, and quality of life in individuals with sub-acute stroke.
Brief summary of what participants will be asked to do:This study lasts for approximately 8 months. The schedule consists of 1 pre-intervention assessment session, 6, 1.5 hour weekly group-based self-management sessions, 1 post-intervention assessment session, and 1 6-month follow-up assessment session. All sessions are conducted over Zoom videoconferencing.
Basic eligibility criteria:45-85 years of age <6 months post-stroke able to read, write, and speak English
