Approved on:2024-10-29
Brief purpose of the study:This study aims to understand the apparel challenges people with disabilities face when dressing. It will provide valuable insights into the development of adaptive apparel that better meets their aesthetic, functional, and performance needs. Possible benefits include identifying apparel design details that will support the development of a new adaptive apparel item for people with disabilities. Some possible risks may include feeling uncomfortable discussing your disability.
Brief summary of what participants will be asked to do:Participants will be asked to participate in an in-person or via Zoom interview that will last no longer than 30 minutes. Participants will be asked questions about the apparel challenges they face when dressing. Participants can also participate in an ongoing wear testing of garments, making it easier to dress. During the wear testing, the participants will be asked to provide feedback regarding the garment's fit, comfort, and mobility. Participants in the wear testing will be asked to provide their body measurements. A visual measuring guide will be provided for collecting measurements.
