Brief purpose of the study: | The goal of the study is to understand how factors like work-life balance, career aspirations, and institutional support influence faculty decision to leave the tenure track. It also aims to examine how individuals perceive their career paths after making this transition and whether they believe it led to a role better aligned with their strengths and aspirations. |
Brief summary of what participants will be asked to do: | Participation Involves:
1. A brief (3-4 minute) intake survey
2. Up to three 60-minute interviews, conducted at a time and location convenient for you. I will accommodate requests to meet via Zoom.
3. A fourth 60-minute meeting with all study participants to discuss emerging themes and engage in imagining diverse career paths within the academy.
Note: Participants who would prefer to conduct member-checking individually and not in a group setting will be accommodated.

Basic eligibility criteria: | I am seeking individuals who chose to leave the tenure track at the University of Missouri within the last five years. Participants:
• must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have left tenure track before tenure review.
• May have remained at the University of Missouri or left the institution.
• May be from any academic discipline.
