Research studies seeking participants

Integration of Advanced Materials and Wearable Devices for Human Physiological Signal Monitoring
Approved on:2025-03-04
Brief purpose of the study:Our group is seeking healthy volunteers aged 19–65 for a research study on advanced materials and wearable devices. These devices, made of biocompatible materials, include flexible sensors designed to measure sweat composition, heart activity, and other signals in real time. They are lightweight, non-invasive, and collect anonymized data only for performance evaluation.
Brief summary of what participants will be asked to do:The participants will attach the sensor to different skin locations (e.g., forehead, upper chest, and forearm) and continuously test it for 1.5 hours. The total number of visits per subject will depend on the types of signals being assessed but will not exceed a maximum of 8 visits over the two-week period. For biochemical signals (such as certain sweat constituents or hormonal indicators), data collection can typically be completed in a single session, reducing the total number of visits. In contrast, for biophysical signals like ECG, longer-term monitoring (7–14 days) may be necessary, potentially increasing the number of visits due to extended testing intervals. The testing will take place in room 1203 at the NextGen building on the University of Missouri campus.
Basic eligibility criteria:We plan to recruit healthy volunteers aged between 19 and 65. The participants had no medical or surgical problems history. The process without any restrictions based on gender, race, or ethnicity.
