Effects of Whole Almonds on Immune Health and Responsiveness

Brief purpose of the study:The overall objective of this study is to investigate the benefits of consuming whole almonds (57g/day) for six weeks on immune health and immune response in adults with obesity.
Brief summary of what participants will be asked to do:Study design: 1-hour screening visit at MU Two 2.5-hour and one 1-hour research visits at MU Study foods provided Total compensation: $500 Individual study measurements: Anthropometrics: weight, adiposity, etc. Blood and stool collections Fat Biopsy Cardiovascular tests Diet and sleep records Appetite ratings Physical activity
Basic eligibility criteria:Age: 30-45 years BMI: 30-45 kg/m2  Willingness to consume study foods    Consistent diet and activity patterns for 4 weeks   Weight stable Non-smokers No allergies to study foods or lidocaine allergies
