Brief purpose of the study:The goal of this research study is to learn about how behaviors observed in newborns relate to meeting developmental milestones during the first years of life.
Brief summary of what participants will be asked to do:Participants will use their smart phones to submit newborn cry recordings (5 minutes), complete a phone interview (15 minutes) and complete online surveys about baby’s development through age 3 (5-30 minutes). Some participants will be invited to an in-person visit at the Thompson Center for Autism to complete developmental measures when their child is 2-4 years old (3 hours). The study will pay up to $265 in Amazon gift cards for participation.
Basic eligibility criteria:Expectant/new parents age 18+
