Developing and Testing Methods for Improving Contrast Enhanced MRI | Inclusion Criteria: Applies to all participants
• Age 18 and older
• Healthy subjects and patients with specific conditions or diseases including but not limited to heart disease, lung disease and brain disease. These patients will be used to test MRI methods to detect these diseases. |
Growth hormone resistance of beta-cells in women with gestational diabetes mellitus and people with a family history of type 2 diabetes (GHRB) | Age 18-45 years old, without current pre-diabetes or diabetes, body mass index (BMI) 30.0-44.9, not pregnant/breastfeeding, no major medical concern, stable weight (no loss or gain in last 3 months)
Group-specific criteria:
-Gestational diabetes group- female with a full term pregnancy with one baby in the last 5 years, diagnosed with gestational diabetes or NOT diagnosed with gestational diabetes
-Family history of type 2 diabetes group- male or female, a first degree relative (ex: mother, father, sibling) diagnosed with type 2 diabetes or NOT diagnosed with type 2 diabetes |

Race-Based Generational Trauma and Black Emerging Adulthood: A Phenomenological Exploration | Participants will be Mizzou students who are between the ages of 18 and 26. Participants must identify as Black, have knowledge of parents'/caregivers' experiences of racial injustice, and endorse firsthand experiences of racial injustice. |

Mental Processes for Rating Pain Intensity | General inclusion criteria: (1) 18 years old or older; (2) visited a HCP for treatment of a painful musculoskeletal condition within previous year; (3) has usually felt, at least, "mild" musculoskeletal pain on most days of the last 3 months in multiple locations; and (4) has felt variable musculoskeletal pain intensity during the last 3 months.
General exclusion criteria: (1) past or current employment as a licensed healthcare provider; (2) diagnosed with a cardiac arrhythmia; (3) has a battery-powered implant in the neck, chest, abdomen, or spine (e.g., pacemaker); (4) diagnosed with a neurological condition that causes uncontrolled movement (e.g., Parkinsonism, epilepsy, etc.); (5) smokes cigarettes or vapes; (6) has abused substances during the last week; or (7) allergic to skin adhesives. |
